Well, perhaps you are doing it all wrong. Engaging in a fitness program is a serious matter that needs attention and consistency. More often than not, it’s a commitment between you and your future.

If you keep on facing disappointments on your regular routines, these tips may help you. Here’s how to build muscles in the right way.

Step 1 – Choose the Right Food

Yes, it is always restated to have a proper diet in order to build muscles, but on the back of it, you must be aware on the nutrional value of each food you consume. It’s not necessary to jut down all the nutrients you can acquire; it’s about knowing which to eat and not to eat in a general perspective. Building muscles would require to consume more calories in a clean way- approximately 2,500 to 3,000 calories. You should also have protein to support your muscle growth – fish, lean meat and chicken are the basics.

Step 2 – Eating Habits

After knowing the right food, don’t forget to eat regularly. You can either have three meals a day or six frequent and smaller meals. You can also try protein shakes to keep your protein level high in between of your meals.

Step 3 – Don’t Ignore Fats

You get rid of fats during an exercise, but it doesn’t mean there are no good fats. In general, fats help in distributing vitamins and promoting healthier skin. Healthful fats can be found in sesame oil, canola, olive, pistachios and soybeans. Omega 3 fats  from salmon, tuna and sardines can be good for eyesight and of course for the heart.

Step 4 – Include Vitamins

Vitamins could support your diet and help you get healthy. Consult your doctor for the proper vitamins based on your age and body condition. However, these are only supplements don’t depend on them for your daily nutritional needs. For instance, it’s better to eat fruits rich in Vitamin C than take vitamins all the time.

Step 5 – Regular and Proper Exercise

A regular and proper training must include the basic principles – warm-up, main exercise and cool down. Your exercise may vary from time to time, you can either do a strength routine or cardio workouts. Another thing to remember is to work out your whole body. You don’t want a broad shoulder with bulging tummy. If you engage on exercises which target the enhancement of your entire body, the more hormones you will produce  which can stimulate muscle growth.
